Connect Kalshi

Link your Kalshi account so its markets line up next to every other venue in OpenMarkets and your trades route there at your direction. About 5 minutes — the OpenMarkets parts are quick; most of the work happens in Kalshi.

OpenMarkets

Open the connect form in OpenMarkets

Get to the screen with the two empty fields, so you know exactly what to paste later.

3 steps
  1. In OpenMarkets, tap the partner icon (top right of the Markets screen) to open the partners list.

  2. Find Kalshi in the partners list and tap it.

Kalshi reads "Add credentials to activate" until it's connected.
  3. Kalshi's connect form opens with two fields — API Key and Private Key (PEM format). Leave it on this screen.

Generate the API key in Kalshi

On kalshi.com — Read/Write permission. Kalshi shows the private half exactly once.

5 steps
  1. In a new tab, sign in to kalshi.com, open your account menu at the top-right of the Kalshi site, and select Settings.
Kalshi account menu with Settings highlighted
  2. Click Account & security.

  3. Scroll to the API Keys section and click Create key.

  4. Give the key a nickname (e.g. OM or OpenMarkets) and choose Read/Write.
Kalshi Create API key dialog with Nickname OM and Read/Write selected
  5. Kalshi will show the key only once. Copy both the API key id and the Private key — they go straight into OpenMarkets's two fields.

Paste and test in OpenMarkets

Two fields, two buttons. You're done.

1 step
  1. Back in OpenMarkets: paste the API Key and Private Key, then tap Save credentials and Test connection.
OpenMarkets Save credentials and Test connection buttons highlighted; balance shown
When the test succeeds you'll see your Kalshi balance and the partner card flips to Connected.

How to know it worked

The Kalshi card flips from "Add credentials to activate" to Connected with a small green dot. Your balance shows next to the name, and Kalshi markets start appearing in your slate alongside every other venue. That's the whole point of OpenMarkets — one view, every market.

If something goes wrong

Test connection failed
Re-check both fields. The API Key is short (an id). The Private Key is the longer block including the -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- and -----END RSA PRIVATE KEY----- headers — paste it whole. If the values look right, regenerate the key in Kalshi and try again.
Balance shows $0.00 but I have funds
Confirm the key is Read/Write, not Read only. Give it ~30 seconds — balances can lag by one sync. If it persists, delete the key in Kalshi and create a fresh Read/Write key.
I lost the private key
Kalshi can't recover it. Delete the key in Kalshi (Account & security → API Keys → red ×), create a new Read/Write key, and re-paste both halves into OpenMarkets.
Test passes but no Kalshi markets show up
Markets sync on the next pull — pull to refresh the slate, or give it a minute and reopen. If they still don't appear, email support@openmarkets.ai.

Disconnecting Kalshi

In OpenMarkets, open the Kalshi partner card and tap Disconnect partner. That removes the encrypted credentials from OpenMarkets — Kalshi itself isn't notified. For belt-and-suspenders, also delete the OM key on Kalshi's side: Account & security → API Keys → red ×.

Your credentials are encrypted at rest in OpenMarkets and only used to fetch balances and route the orders you tap. The key never leaves the OM backend except to talk to Kalshi, and you can revoke on either side at any time.

If a screen doesn't match these steps, Kalshi may have updated its flow — email support@openmarkets.ai.
