Using Atlas Coins for paper trading

Atlas Coins are OpenMarkets' practice currency, also called play money. They let you place trades at real, live market prices without risking real money and without connecting a venue. Your Atlas Coins balance and your practice results are always tracked separately from real money, so the two never mix.

1. Open the app. On your Dashboard you'll see two balances side by side: Atlas Coins (marked Practice) and Real Money. They're always kept separate and never combined.
2. Go to the Markets tab, open any market, and pick the outcome you want to trade.
3. In the buy ticket, choose the Atlas Coins row. It's pinned to the top with a coin icon and a Practice pill, and it appears on markets that support practice trading. No connected venue is required.
4. The Atlas Coins row uses the same live, per-share price as the real market, so your practice trade behaves just like the real thing.
5. Enter how much to stake. Use the toggle to switch between Coins and Shares, then review the cost and the payout you'd receive if the trade wins.
6. Slide to buy. The trade books in Atlas Coins against the OpenMarkets practice book.
7. Track how you're doing back on the Dashboard. Your Atlas Coins balance updates as practice trades settle, and your practice profit and loss is shown on its own, separate from any real-money results.

Atlas Coins have no cash value and can't be withdrawn or converted to real money. They're only for practice. When you're ready to trade for real, connect a venue.
